Very interesting Coolcameragirl. So, were you away from CT during the big snow storm?

While in Iceland, we explored and photographed ice caves. We had to hike into the glacier wearing crampons and helmets, carrying our camera backpacks and tripods. Inside was wet, slippery ice and pools of water - was not too comfortable. Took photos for about 15 minutes and was out of there.

Interesting and very beautiful photo Coolcameragirl!

Thanks for sharing your experience, appreciated. :-)

A question came to mind as I was shutting down last nite is the deterioration of these ice cave something that happens every year as it starts to get warmer or is it related to Global Warming which I am beginning to believe in. I still say that this picture is breath taking and I love the transparency or the ice.

The guide showed us where this glacier was last week and last year. It is amazing how fast it moves. Last year was about 1/4 mile.

Yes, I was very lucky - was in balmy Iceland while New England was fighting the storm. Half was melted by the time I got back.
