Your lighting on the birds is exceptional. Did you use a flash extender to get that exposure?

Those who don't spend a lot of time on forums would probably appreciate more explanatory comments. Some of the jargon must be really daunting to newcomers. Remember that you're writing for others, not to show how you belong to the "in crowd."

Great stuff angler. All fantasic shots, however it's interesting that we all have different viewpoints. I actually favour No. 1, as IMHO, the out of focus buildings really place the bird in it's semi-urban looking environment. The downward facing aspect adds to the interest and I find myself, although looking at the buildings, always drawn back to the bird wondering if it's heading for a landing. Probably my foolish old mind working overtime!! Anyway, thanks.....more please. (BTW, hit 'download' on these if you already haven't..... mind numbing).

Morning digitalzen.I dont understand what your saying.First of all i'm not in the ''in crowd'' as you put it and neither is anyone else on this forum we are mostly friendly and pass advice and tips to one another.I have tried to explain myself to other posters who ask for my advice as best i can and if you think that i have come out with a load of''JARGON ''you are greatly mistaken.I have been doing photography for a hobby for approx 2 years and still have a lot to learn,so my advice to you is if you can explain to people in an easier way go ahead and do it.The idea on this forum is to say like or dislike and give an honest but friendly opinion.I see your a new user,an expert i presume. :thumbdown: :thumbdown:

Hi digitalzen, I think I may have been guilty of using a bit of 'jargon' in my earlier comment to angler.... if I confused anyone then I apologise. Many keen photographers enjoy giving and receiving feedback from all over the world..... this is a good thing which couldn't be done before the digital age when many of us were youngsters. However, coming to grips with digital camera technology is only half the deal. Learning a few accepted and common abbreviations is actually necessary to engage in banter on forums of all types... not just UHH. It's not a matter of being part of the 'in crowd' - it's not a drama, if one doesn't understand an abbreviation or term, simply ask.

Now just to clear the air for those not familiar with some of the accepted and often used abbreviations you'll encountered on this forum:
Big Sig = Light hearted term for large Sigma lens...150-500mm;
BIF = bird/s in flight;
BTW = by the way;
IMHO = in my humble opinion; and
PP = post production (I think) Computer enhancement of images before final display.

digitalzen, please accept my comments as I offer them ie. in good cheer :-P ..... and I apologise again if I was the guilty party.

Sorry angler - didn't mean to hi-jack your post but....... :?
