Anyone remember this Voyager from 1986

When I was in the Air Force, stationed at Edwards Air Force Base, I got to be in the ground crew and we set up a mile long PA system in the Mohave. I got a front row in this historical event. Okay the photos are really old but maybe you'll be able to enjoy them.

Voyager in hanger as it landed and the pilots were awaiting a phone call from President Reagan, I punched down the phone line to a PA system for all to hear. He sent a telagram. So I never made it in the history books. Oh well.

Another show showing the damage to the wing which happened because of all the fuel in the wing as it took off. Okay I had old camera equipment and the shots are not the best. But I got better!

Thank you 33Rivers, I happened to be so blessed to be there at Edwards AFB at that time, and got to volunteer to the project.
I was in the 1925th Communication Squadron at the time and so we provided the communications support.

Randy, when I worked for the Marqaurdt Co. I was on the NASP X-30 project as well as a few other hush hush programs, those of us in the test dept. used to love to get out to EAFB so much freakin cool history there for us aerospace nerds! I just wish I was allowed to take pictures of our stuff, but the Feds kinda frowned on that kinda thing ya know.

33rivers - EAFB had a no flight line photos law in placed when I was there and i too wasnt able to get a lot of photos but they did open up the flight line to photos a few times and i did get some photos from time to time.
Since i worked around the air traffic control tower i got notice on the lifting of the no flight line photos so i was able to go around and get some photos. In fact one time i was stopped by the MP's and so they called it in and found out i was right so i clicked on.
I lot of memories there. I too would love to get back there and go back to some of the old sites. Oh well.
