This was back in September 2011, I just found out about the great market issue as I said, because got a new Nikon and registered online and did the same with all my equipment.
Back then, I paid to be exact $1,528.99 (not exactly Grey market price) for the body, the 18-55 and the 55-200

This is "bait & switch" tactics. Use this term everytime you discuss situation with Amazon or Sunset. You paid for a US Warranted camera, but received a gray market camera.

I suggest that you press Amazon to discontinue their association with Sunset, based on "bait & switch" tactics.

I'm at a loss. At one point during Christmas Nikon had the D7000 w 18-105 lens on sale from $1,199 down to $999.95, for about three days. Current price through any authorized Nikon dealer is $899.95 Body only, $ 1,499.95 with 18-200 Lens and $ 1,199.95 for 18-105MM lens kit. What did you get for $ 1,500??

my sugestion is to call your credit card company. Also I don't know if the Florida Attorney generals office could help, but maybe the attorney general from whereever sunset is located!

unfortunately camera equipment seems to atract alot of scamers the best advice is to purchase from reputable companies who have been around a while like adorama, b=hphoto, KEH, Calumet. They have a reputation to uphold. if you see a price that looks togood to be true it is. Do what ever you can to get that camera exchanged for a made for US camera. Nikon will not service at any price unauthorized Nikons. Canon will but will charge you. Nikon no longer sells repair parts to unauthorized camera repair companies so that grey market camera will turn into a paper weight the first time it needs major repair.

This also happened to me with a lens. I tried to register it and was told it was a gray market lens. I checked the BBB and Sunset Electronics is rated an "F". I contacted Amazon about this issue and right now I'm reporting a violation of rules with them. I also filed a complaint with the BBB. And after numerous emails to Sunset Electronics with a few threatening messages they sent me an address to return it but said nothing about receiving a new lens or reimbursement. So right now I'm not so sure I should send it back because I just might not receive anything in return.
