A lot depends on your buget. Costco is good, but I was pleased with Sams Club Photo Department...they were a lot closer to my home.
Want the finest, Mpix and many other Professional Photo outfits are excellent...just depends on your Budget.

I enclose (hopefully) my wrap around 24X36 Canvas of my brother at his favorite fishing lake. Of Course, there is no color to really judge the quality.

You might already know, but I learned that if you wrap around the canvas, then photo size has to be larger than normal to have area to wrap around. Costo, Sam's Club have Cropping help that shows what scene will end up on the flat part of your photo...I would think the Biggies will educate you on Cropping.

My grandson is turning 21 this month and I want to have a canvas print (16 x 20) made of one of his favorite photos. Never had this done before and I would appreciate any recommendation's UH members would have concerning what printer service to use.

Hopefully you got the results you desired on the canvas print am sure it will look very dramatic when completed. Excuse the arguments, sometimes unfortunately it ends up that way here at times.

Annie, it is all about "price point" with a lot of people, and that is ok. But I agree, I wouldn't entrust my photos to minimum wage, stock boys/girls.

Many people don't have to think about the reputation of their business, because it is just a hobby. I think that is apparent.

You are correct, we'll overlook it this time, have fun.

I'm pretty sure those walmart, Costco or walgreen employees are not going to call you if something looks off when they run your print thru quality control. C&C color has called me to tell me they needed me to resend a file because the skin tone looked to green, called to confirm a funky crop (it was correct and a pretty strange crop). Does Walgreen's even have a quality control?

Yes, they do. I put whatever on a stick, they upload it, myself and their tech, not a clerk as you imply check it, they print a scat copy, if it matches the monitor they go ahead and print it. I usually stand right there as it doesn't take but a few minutes start to finish.

Funny everytime I have walked into my walgreens it's the same girl or guy behind the photo counter as the person who grabs the cigarettes and rings in the pepsi. There is no sepcial tech, its however got scheduled to cover that area of the store that day. I've asked.

When they do "quality check" they are just checking the file is large enough to print (the computer tells them, just like when you up load them to their website), they have no idea about skin tones or exposure.

Doesn't matter cause you are free to print where ever you want, I know that there is no way in he## I would even print my family snap shots there.

Annie, I am sure you are correct about the drugstore employees. Minimum wage employees are here today and gone tomorrow. You never know if they are coming back, when they leave for the day.

Up-to-it just thinks his is the one and only opinon that should be should be heard.

One poster said he got two prints put on canvas, then had both mounted and framed, and still had $72 dollars left out of his Hundred. They are not getting much quality at these places.

I have used Zazzle and Camera World. Both came out well, but these days there are many great deals. I have three on order 24 x 36 for 222.00 total from Printcopia We'll see when they arrrive as to the quality, but their guarantee is excellent and I have had excellent tech help from them as will.

Ladies, enough of the insulting insinuations, bickering, arguing and just plain childisness. This thread began on the 6th at 1:18 in the afternoon when fricciardi simply asked for a suggestion where to get a canvas done. I suggested WalGreen because they have a Photo Center not just a drug store close by and do very good professional work expediently and at a reasonable price. Mr. Norman has been involved with photography for almost 55 years and he is good. Normally all of my printing is performed by the folks at my web site and I don't have to be concerned with it.
I realize you two are high class ladies, your conversations have shown that. Theegambler as you said you are making $80,000 with your soft porn business and so you are way above anything as piddly as Walgreen, thats fine. Annie, you are being your normal obstinate self the way you have been since you came onboard November of last year. Why you have to argue so much is beyond me.
I am blocking this particular thread so I won't have to contend with you two any longer, hopefully our paths will not cross again.
Good luck, good night and candles will be lit for the two of you.

Umm I think you mean me when you refer to "soft porn" which is funny as hell. I just told my husband that i take soft porn photos and he just about fell out of his chair laughing. Do you even know what boudior photography is? Do you know soft porn is?

Do you think 1940's pin-ups are soft porn? Cause I do those as well. There is no difference between what body parts show between boudior or pin-up, same parts are covered up.

Judge all you want, I love what I do, I help make woman feel good about themselves, I make an ok living with photography, I have made great friendships with the woman I have had the honor of photographing and I LOVE what I do.

What trouble have I caused since I started posting here? Please share? Or is this community only for hobbyists who take pictures of flowers and birds?

Up-to-it, you are a nutcase and in "no way a gentleman."

If I want to "pay more than $12" to have a photo put on canvas, stretched and framed, that is my choice.

Here are my websites

www.falconwoodarabians.com and www.fixmyphotosnow.webs.com...

Try finding porn on those...

And, BTW, if I wanted to do photos of pretty ladies in their nighties what is wrong with that!
More ladies should try it. Not only is it fun to have "photo parties" like that with your girlfriends, and a lady photographer, but husbands like the photos! Come to think of it, that is something that would bring in some nice revenue!

So good riddence Up-to-it, you will not be missed.

Annie, give him "what for!" He is a cranky old jerk. Women appreciate what you do...
