remember you will need to sharpen for a canvass print a little differently than you would need to sharpen for a typical print to get the best results.

and I agree, I would never print at Walgreens. I'm sorry, teenage employees who are trained on how to run a cash register and stock shelves, don't care about the quality of my prints. They don't understand the finer details of printing, the just push a button and collect the prints at the "finished" side of the big machine.

I'm curious then, do you buy your hair care products at a salon, your facial care products at a dermatologist, your clothes at a clothing only store, and on and on? Personally I like Costco for the convenience and their professionalism.

Know Costco and that minimum wage professional appreciates your business, our Costco hasn't opened yet. Walgreens does good with their new equipment and their price is reasonable. Walked in about 11:00 and walked out about 35 minutes later with 2 items, went next door to frame shop had them stretched and was back home in an hour.
Had two beautiful prints and a small coke, counted my change and had 72.00 left out of a hundred. Funniest thing, damn mail still hadn't ran.
Printing on canvas ain't rocket science, the service is fast and good and reasonably priced.

It is personal choice.. If you want to go to an appliance store to get your photos put on canvas, it is your decision.

And, yes, I buy my clothes at a clothing store! I don't go to a grocery store to purchase clothing. You are being silly. I am not going to give my clients a canvas photo with "Walgrens" stamped on it.... But, then maybe you don't have to worry about that.

Annie, it is all about "price point" with a lot of people, and that is ok. But I agree, I wouldn't entrust my photos to minimum wage, stock boys/girls.

Many people don't have to think about the reputation of their business, because it is just a hobby. I think that is apparent.

Up, you are not buying from those minimum wage employees, you are buying from a very large corporation! The employees just get a salary! They push a button on the machine to print your photos...

I really don't care what you do. I am just stating my preference. You can get your photos done at the local ezmart, if you want.

You are correct.

I'm pretty sure those walmart, Costco or walgreen employees are not going to call you if something looks off when they run your print thru quality control. C&C color has called me to tell me they needed me to resend a file because the skin tone looked to green, called to confirm a funky crop (it was correct and a pretty strange crop). Does Walgreen's even have a quality control?

You are correct, we'll overlook it this time, have fun.

Yes, they do. I put whatever on a stick, they upload it, myself and their tech, not a clerk as you imply check it, they print a scat copy, if it matches the monitor they go ahead and print it. I usually stand right there as it doesn't take but a few minutes start to finish.

Thank you, why did you try to start an argument?

Up, Yes! Like most photographers have things called "clients" that use their photography services. You know, photographers get hired to do photo shoots, etc.

Up, you try to start an argument with me on every thread.

I said that I prefer to go to a specialty business that does only one thing, photography services.

YOU took exception to that..like I am not supposed to have an opinion.

Give it up.

I know it is like an old mimeograph machine, and can turn out thousands of prints in a minute. You just don't have to turn a handle any longer. They push a button. LOL

It is made by HP, called a plotter a neat setup, looking at a flyer he gave me. Says can print up to 64" wide. No crfank on it either.
