Just for us naive fellers on the other side of the pond, what are rutabagas?

I guess my biggest fault is getting mad at stupid, so I am going to try and not get so mad at it. :)
And try to talk with God more. I have been slacking on that a little because of work.
And finally, try to help more folks that need it. I am blessed with friends and family. They should be too.

OH,, Janny said I should add...Stay not smoking. :):) Quite on Thanksgiving day!!!

Erv,

My resolution was to not make any, then I read yours.

Hope you don’t mind but I am going to steal yours, they are great resolutions! Thanks!

And to all, HAVE A GREAT, SAFE AND HEALTHY NEW YEAR! May you and yours have the best year of your life.

I'm going to stick to my diet which consists of eliminating all foods I don't like. I'm down to M&M's & peanuts.

I've always hated rutabagas......

Add a lot of butter and rutabagas aren't that bad. Probably not intended for daily cuisine though. I guess if that were the only food available, we would all learn to like them.

Good Grief, Folks? You want me to make some resolutions? Oh well, I intend to talk with God more than I have and I want to help people more than I have done. I want to be less interested in race, religion, or creed and more interested in what they might offer to our society.

I wish that I could count all Muslims as my friends, and even though I'm aquainted with several and friendly, I doubt the whole of them are friendly to us American infidels. I resolve to keep them as friends and to continue to be nice and educate them in our (not all together the best) Western ways.

I hope the whole world gets educated through electronic means or whatever it takes, to know the power of freedom of the individual and will continue to do whatever I can to educate and promote a democratic (republican) way of life.

Like all Southerners, I will resolve to clean all of my guns, again; polish the steel, clean all the mechanisms, buy more ammunition, and get ready for any home invasion! Nothing can deter a potential thief than the sound of a 12 gauge buckshot round being pumped into a chamber!

I again resolve to take my "belt camera", Pany DMC-SZ7 with me at all times and to bring and use my P-510 most often.

Again, I resolve to talk with my God more than once a day; to ask Him for his forgiveness of my sins and to wish him a good day!

And at last, I will resolve to wish the UHH folks an everlasting wish for health and prosperity in the new year!

Hey? I think I covered the bases?!!

Love Y'all, Gary

Helpful tip: When consuming rutabagas, be sure your blood alcohol is up over 0.1 percent. They will still taste vile, but you won't care.

Happy New Year!

Some people use that as guideline when picking up strangers in a bar. The more you drink, the better they look. Actually, a scientific study explained why that is so. It has something to do with an area of the brain not working up to par. More people look attractive to us. I thinik it had to do with our preception of symmetry not working properly.

Hang in there! I smoked for 30yrs and stopped Labor Day weekend 1993. I know how difficult it can be but each month gets better. By the way, Happy New Year! I enjoyed your photos of the snow yesterday.

I know what you mean about stupid. I get mad at myself on a regular basis. (LOL). Seriously, I get what you're saying and have the same problem.

You gotta beat this smoking thing for Janny. I did it for Kathy 35 years ago and I am the most habitual person on the planet. I'm praying for you.

Thanks! I have been haven fun outside this week and with little Harrison. So far I am doing pretty good with the smoking. I started slowly stoping. Janny was hoping I would loose some of my energy, she things my smoking made me always on the go. But she is finding that is just me.:) Can't sit still to long, I might grow roots.:)

I have never tried that... And now that you mention it, I don't think I will start now. The alcohol is ok but the Rutabagas are still a no go for me. I am not going to waste a good drink of them.
