Thanks for your comments. I agree with how HDR can be overdone as I was so guilty of that early on. Most of my pictures looked like they were from a 1940's Technicolor movie. I thought they were great - but that didn't last long. As I got a better understanding of the fundamentals of photography and of the mechanics of the camera and of the Photomatix program, I scaled back a lot. Anyway, photography, like any art form is an evolving entity - and that's what makes it so satisfying to me.
Your "Early Frost" photo is exquisite. The colors, the feeling of distance and the highlights are marvelous. I appreciate your taking the time to share it and your thoughts. (This is why I signed up with "Ugly Hedgehogs.") Thanks again. Gandalph

This is my first posting and I selected several pictures as a sampling of my favorite subjects, Yosemite, birds, and landscapes. I have a Canon Rebel T1i and I enjoy experimenting with HDR. I have enjoyed reading the various critiques of the members of the Ugly Hedgehog and I welcome your opinions and suggestions. I have so much to learn.....
I love the dreamlike quality of your landscapes.Great work!
