We will NEVER stop the crazies and the criminals.

Also, we will never stop debating gun control.

The only thing we can do is to do the best we can to protect ourselves.

What would you do if someone broke into your home with a gun while you and your family were still at home. Play it out for us. The man has to be a little on the crazy side to break in while your family is at home right? So what would you do?

I would try to play it cool and calm until the instant I got my chance to pull my trigger, then I would pull without hesitation.

Yes, that would be the right thing to do to protect yourself and your family but JR1 hasn't got a gun to propect himself or his family. I think he would be clueless as to what to do.

Dunno bout these days., When I was stationed in Alaska, Fort Richardson, I had civilian hand guns, 45 acp, 35 rem, 44mag, 38 spl, rifles, Marlin levers from 22 to 444, 3 shotguns 410, 20 and 12 guage, 338 mag for bear and moose and a 243 for deer.
These weapons were in my quarters and at my disposal 24/7/365.
If living in barracks weapons must be secured in arms room.
Alaska was, at the time, and still may be, an open carry state, you can carry a weapon, unconcealed anywhere you like, sav e for banks and bars.

I guess I'd run upstairs and get the gun from my nightstand. Then I'd go in the closet and get the bullets stored there. Then I'd get the key to unlock the trigger lock. Then load the gun and make my way back downstairs to take on the hooligans.

Or, just to be sure I'm always ready, as soon as I come home from work every night, I'd run the same process as before, but instead I'll spend the rest of the night sitting in front of the TV with a loaded gun on my lap just in case the bad guys show up. Nothing says "I care" to a 6-year old quite like a loaded 357 Magnum in daddy's lap, don't you think?

tschmath, You sound like a true Red Neck. Glad you are on our side. Now, make sure that thing is cocked and loaded. The gun silly, the gun!
