How long when you post a question on the UHH before you check back for answer? I found so many UHH posted questions and never camera back with a response even if it's a F*** word. I much rather see that than a question and then I tried to answer the OP just never acknowledge. I think that is a greater insult than using bad words.
I never tell anyone to go ask Mr. Google and I am not Mr. Google.
Personally, I think that if you post a question and then get an answer, it’s just plain common courtesy to say thank you to the person spending the time to answer your question. If you do not acknowledge their effort, that’s a bit on the rude side.
There is a lot of knowledge here and there are some pretty generous people willing to share. It’s nice to say “Thank you!”
How long does it take me to see the reply and respond? about 30 seconds from the time I get a reply. When I post a query, I check the little box to notify me of replies and comments to the post. I am notified whenever there is a comment made to my post.
I don't even look to see what happens later on to questions asked.
I just give an answer...and move on.
Life is short.
Yes, that is strange, but there might be legitimate reasons - work, away from home, solved the problem.

I started a 4 X 5 photography topic and enjoyed a huge number of excellent replies. I may have missed replying to some of them. If I did miss some, it was an oversight because I truly benefited from the numerous replies.
I bought one Crown Graphic because the photos and description indicated that it was in "mint" condition. It did look good BUT; the folding back focusing hood was missing, the top focusing system contained corroded batteries. The shutter was sticking. I tried to get partial refund the seller wouldn't budge. Finally, I threatened to report her to eBay for falsely describing the camera and she agreed to take it back and issue a refund.
I then bought two Crown Graphic Pacemakers and used the combined parts to construct a good camera. It didn't cost much more than the one overpriced, misrepresented, defective camera.

You don't have to thanks everyone or respond to everyone suggestion. Just at least post something back so that the people who responded to your question knew that you read their posts and knew which you decided to do. And you did post a lot of posts in your thead and I am greatly appreciate that.

No real time frame for me!
I place in the forum what I feel is relevant to others. But I have other things to do. My wife will ask me to vacuum the rugs, take the dog for a walk, clean up the house, wash the dishes, etc. When all is done, I head back to the forum!

Often minutes. I agree with you and also find OPs that disappear annoying.

👍👍👍 It simply comes down to common courtesy. If an OP poses a question, he/she/it has a responsibility to respond to submittals. Otherwise, IMHO, the ignoring OP is no better than a “topic troll.”
I'm not a pro... but I drop by at least once a day. I don't have questions. If there is a technical question (not photo related, generally) I try to answer it. If there is a comment in 'chit chat', I may add to it. If I find something photo related and interesting, I'll post it. I enjoy the site; it's good.
