As posted last week, I had to reinstall Win 11 and recover all my settings, data and apps. At this point I believe full recovery and restore are 95% complete. My mouse has been a bit erratic, so I visited Win 11 mouse settings. I played with a few settings for a couple of days, but the behavior was still slow and erratic. About 15 minutes ago I decided to DUH - CHANGE THE BATTERIES! I had erroneously assumed the reinstallation of the OS was the cause of the weird behavior. Voila!! Think simple first!

I have an excuse I can use - I just had my 87th birthday last week. Thinking simply is not automatic!!
My mouse and I wish you a wonderful day!

Yup, always go for the simple stuff first.

(My mouse has a little LED on top, green for a bit when turned on, blinks red when battery is low, about a day or so before it quits.)

I have a digital thermometer that says it's 80° in the ≈35° garage.
I'll check the batteries.

Either needs batteries or the cockroaches living in the wall have a fireplace.

I don't feel old until I get our of a chair and try walking. My mind thinks I'm 18!

I never use a wireless mouse. I have one for the PC that is connected to the TV for the purpose of video streaming but I don't use it, only my wife use it.

The real issue is why anyone would buy a more expensive computer that needed a battery to operate (not a lap top but stand alone plugged into the mains). Even the idiots at Ford Motor Company realized that a fusible linkage was no longer necessary with the modern battery systems of vehicles. Time to be truly digital and get into the 21st century.

I had a similar experience when picking up the batteries I dropped twice, but they don’t provide the odor. 🤪

When you get to our age, when you drop something on the floor, you look at it and decide if you really need it....

Um... He was referring to the wireless mouse, not the computer.
Does anyone even make a desktop that has/requires a battery?????
