I bought a Tamron 150-600 lens from someone on UHH. It stopped working with my cameras (also with cameras at the camera shop). I tried to get it fixed locally (nope), sent it to Tamron... turned out to be a grey market lens & they wouldn't touch it. Does anyone know of a place that will work with grey market lenses?

I am not a hundred percent sure but Mr. Riggins has helped me in the past. Perhaps, you should e-mail him. He may or may not be able to help you. It is worth a shot.

This is just another example of why you dont buy Grey market cameras and lenses. No camera maker's USA authorized repair shop will touch ANY grey market goods. If they do, they risk losing getting parts from the makers, a fact.

That is exactly why the money you saved on buying grey maker goods is a fallacy, as you will often pay more in the end.

There was some grumbling on UHH months ago about slow service, which I didn’t experience when I used him a few years ago. Rick is definitely worth a call.

A short while ago, my baby needed a repair. I sent an e-mail to Mr Riggins. No pressure. I told him what was wrong. He quoted me a price. I sent a money order. I wrapped my camera and shipped it to him. He fixed my camera. He sent it back to me. No Hassels. No games. No BS. I have no issues with him.

I’m not sure where you are but check google for “Camera repair” in your area. I am in the Dallas area and there are several places here which will work on gray market stuff. My gear is all U.S. market, and registered with Nikon, but the guy there told me that my manufacturer (Nikon) makes it very difficult for them to get parts, so I’d speak to somebody and make sure they can get what they need to fix your Tampon.

If you are paying for the repair , it should be against some law to refuse to fix it , it is same lens . In the 70 s , a certain brand of upscale German car , had the us dealers to refuse to fix cars that where bought in Germany direct and shipped back to US . That was good for the independents .
