Looks like Sony is dominating that market.

I drive a KIA, but IF I hit the 6 numbers I would try a Genesis... I like the Hyundai family. A lot of us have a " Family " of lenses and maybe a few bodies and Major changes are sometimes NOT possible. Mirrorless IS the future so if you are not too ancient, maybe start thinking about it. My best shot was with a 10 mp Sony bridge camera/Zeiss lens. You don't NEED the latest and greatest to capture a great scene... Learn your equipment and use good techniques. My rule is to buy the BEST lens you cannot afford ! Give credit to Sony for pushing the envelope...

I am a Photographer, I do not care, and my camera's are not listed. And again, I could care less.
I am a photographer, not a gear geek.
It is surprising that Olympus (OM Digital Solutions) is not in that list. Olympus has always been a very popular camera in Japan and only a few years ago their OM-10 Mk II was the most sold camera in that country.
No surprise that Sony dominates the market there. Sony has become very popular and they have Zeiss behind them to make them better.
If your camera, mine is not, is not there just understand that cameras and lenses are only tools. If you know what you are doing any camera will do the job.
Meaningless numbers. One camera store in Tokyo.

Several points to your responses.
1. Mirrorless is not the future, it is the present and has been for years.
2. Sony has not relied on Zeiss lenses for quite some time. Yes, it helps the RX-10 line be superior to anything else on the bridge market. However, with their new designs, Sony has surpassed Zeiss in optical quality of lenses.
3. This information on "sales" is informative in that the majority of sales are in the regular line (A7iv) and the smaller body (A7C) cameras, which means that Sony has hit the sweet spots of most consumer's preferences.
4. Enjoy your own equipment until you desire something new, and then shop the market!
I love when people post meaningless drivel that in their mind validates their choice of brand.
Yodobashi is more like Best Buy than B&H. The one I've been to in Shinjuku is a large one and they sell home appliances there too. Serious photographers are more likely to shop at Map camera than Yodobashi.

A lot depends on what camera is favored by the store owners and sales staff as well as what has the highest profit margin. Or, it could be based on which cameras result in the highest customer satisfaction or the best features. Since we don't know the answers we should choose the cameras WE like, not what someone else likes.
I once entered a camera store in Erie, PA to purchase a DSLR Nikon. The store representative talked me into buying an Olympus E-1. I stuck with Olympus 4/3 cameras until they discontinued the entire E series product line and introduced the micro 4/3 models. Then, I had a whole collection of really fine lenses an no new camera body models. I was stuck at 12 MP and no upgraded features.
I wish there were an adapter to use those Zuiko lenses on my Canon R7.

Here is the list from one of the other top Japanese camera stores per 43rumors.com.
"Mapcamera (one of the largest store in Japan) shared the top selling cameras of December:
1st place: α7C II
2th place: Z f
3rd place: GR IIIx
4th place: Z 8
5th place: EOS R6 Mark II
6th place: Fuji X-T5
7th place: α7R V
8th place: OM-1
9th place: α7 IV
10th place: α6700"
Still shows Sony as the top seller but shows a little more diversity. It would be interesting to see the top ten camera stores of Japan and see what they say there sales were.
