The final stop -- Auschwitz/Birkenau
It looks like one for a photo gallery... or in the Attic if you commented on dictatorships. Read the suggested rules.
The Main section is for questions about equipment or settings.
This is a fine example of a vanishing point image.

End of the line, final stop?
What are you playing at here?
As said, this is fodder for the attic, if only for the title and comment.
There is nothing funny here about people losing their lives in concentration camps - my uncle did -.

This is Birkenau which was the main murder camp in the Auschwitz complex. True about the vanishing points. Despite the starkness of the shot, the composition adds no new insight. The sky is badly burned out while the foreground and building are a bit too dark for my liking. The monochromaticity of the shot reinforces the starkness. While color is the real way we experience the word, in this case, it understates the horrors that occurred beyond that building.
Thanks for posting. Never again....

It wasn't intended to be funny. It was a commentary about the brutal terror of the Nazis and the hopelessness of their victims. Also, a stark reminder.

Yes, I know the sky was blown out, and the buildings a bit dark -- that I can fix. It didn't look that dark on my screen. Thanks for the comments.

I have reworked the photo and it is now in the black&white section.
I appreciate this image and am not surprised that some of members felt uncomfortable or offended by what the image represents that they wanted to hustle it right into the attic. I guess you could ask questions about camera settings and compostion along with post processing and use this picture as an example.
I have no idea why anyone would want to ban this to the attic. It is a very somber photo. The starkness of it adds to that mood. This image is doing exactly what we hope images do: Stir an emotional response!
What the heck? This proves that no one can say or do anything anymore without people getting all bend out of shape for the littlest insignificant things in this world anymore.
People get a grip of yourself and your perceived sensibilities. The posted picture has nothing derogatory, the title had nothing to fan the flames. It seems that all of the sudden if you say anything about the Nazis concentration camps is fodder for hurt sensitivities real or imagined. Humans have been doing this since the first big settlements appeared on earth after settling down due to the discovery of agriculture.
This picture/title besides some exposure flaws has nothing to get all riled up. Chill.
It's a good picture. And the title is a stark reminder of the atrocities that took place. We MUST never forget!

Absolutely. I am saddened that so many people are offended so easily.
I totally agree. This person should be removed.
