I dont disagree. The better TCs are the optically newer ones made for the optically better mirrorless-designed lenses which have optical designs meant to work with these TCs. Combined with better-sensor mirrorless cameras, this combo results in professional quality TC images in my real-world experiences.

From what I hear, you must be using a SONY lens in order to use a TC on Sony cameras ( at least the A1/A9) - and (I think) the TC needs to be Sony also ? !
Better ISO and AF performance of mirror less has mitigated the light loss of TC's ..... 8-)
