It is frequently said by those who move to Arizona that they miss the fall colours. Granted, we have mostly yellow. But if one will just search, one can find wonderful fall colour.
I took these at the Arboretum yesterday. The Great Tree is just starting to turn, so I'll need to make another trip - or several - to catch it in full glory.
These are Chinese Pistache trees.
This beautiful tree is not as large as the one I call the Great Tree!
The roses are still blooming.

The gorgeous blue sky adds to the drama of the colour.
Very nice fall colors. Ya jus’ gotta know where to look. Thanks for sharing.
Really nice, Kathy. It's the same here in Louisiana. We have some color but you have to look for it.

Which arboretum? Is this Boyce-Thompson? We were just there a couple of weeks ago.
Mostly yellow is right. Many years ago I went up the mountain to near Greer in the Sunrise ski area and all I found were Aspen, and even then not what you would call vast stands, rather just smaller clumps. There is some (not much) scrub oak around us that gets almost red, but other than those, anything that has any color has been planted there.
You sure found 'em! Beautiful!

Thanks, Ken. I guess I never thought about y'all being devoid of fall colour. But then, I've never been in the south in the fall!
