No sea in it of course but she's up there floating around with the seagulls, good enough for me!
I've spent far too long fiddling with this one. It has around eighty layers, over twenty of which are image layers making the angel - she's a hotchpotch of bits and pieces. Loads of adjustment layers attached to her as well. The background and seagulls are pretty simple. The use of Smart Objects can slow the computer to a crawl if there are too many, so I was constantly reducing them by combining layers. At the end 'The Move' (Shift/Alt/Command/E) produced a merged layer without turning it into a flattened file. To that layer I added a very mild Oil Painting Filter - I recently learned that, by turning off the Lighting slider whilst using that filter, those ghastly 'wormy' things were eliminated. You can let me know if you think I wasted my time adding the painted effect. Any critique welcome.

I don't think you wasted your time on anything. The angle wings are nicely done, the gulls a wonderful touch. She looks like a stern angel, not a loving one but appearances can deceive.

Oh yes, my Art Director does not like that face Jack, I’ve posted it without further consultation! Thanks for your comments.

" It has around eighty layers, over twenty of which are image layers making the angel - she's a hotchpotch of bits and pieces. Loads of adjustment layers attached to her as well. "

Results are good, but you had a devil of a time with this Angel. I agree with Curmudgeon that "The angel wings are nicely done, the gulls a wonderful touch. "

Indeed, there are bits of her that didn’t make the grade laying all over the living room floor! Her skirts are actually from the Chinese lady posted a few days back. She certainly proved a challenge. Thanks for your comments Don.

She certainly looks unhappy with that gull in her face, as would I. However, once again your creation is fascinating and incredibly well done. I hope you don’t have too much trouble picking up the left over pieces from the living room floor.

That lady didn’t smile a lot Ellen! Thanks for your comments - I’m just getting the vacuum out of the cupboard!

What I'm really impressed with, is that the gulls look like they are really flying. They are not in one plane, you altered the sizes and the orientations to make them look very real. I don't know enough about the other aspects that you explained to have anything worthwhile to say about it. For some reason, that I can't put a finger on, it does not have a really high "wow" factor for me. I like the image and I can appreciate the work it took. It just is not one of my favorites. Sorry about that.
