The comments here are very helpful, especially yours, Dave, and Don’s. Since my hands may provide UCM, perhaps I should try the effect of ICM. It may be quite simple for me! But then I need to advance my PP skills.
I very much like the colors here (excuse me, colours). The ethereal appearance of your model would be enhanced if she had a happier look on her face. Just my opinion.

In the presentation I watched on ICM the lady proudly showed some shots that, to me, just looked like camera shake. Not attractive! I think there’s got to be some linear movement to make it work. I saw another lady showing how to do it with seascapes so I’ll have a go at that soon. I have the same problem as you keeping the camera steady - ICM is a great disguise!
The model in this image is supposed to look a bit scary rather than happy Ellen, but I see what you mean. She was actually trying to look mysterious!

I like the fact you worked to get rid of any potential white spots. They would have broken the mood for me at least. I pictured this lady coming through the archway on the left and moving to show us the light ball in her hand. You've blended her well into the background and I enjoy the ICM effect and the colors you've used. Well conceived and executed.

You have interpreted the image much as I thought it in the making, which is pleasing as it must be telling the intended story. Pleased you like the colours too, ICM seems to do something unexpected with them as it blurs them together. Thanks for your thoughts on it, they’re appreciated.

With this one I decided to simply use the ICM element as a background for a composite with a view to creating an overall effect not unlike a pastel drawing. You can decide whether that's what it looks like. The ICM result gives a sort of half-predictable effect. You know the direction of movement will be fairly obvious but, by adding more movement in a different direction, or of a different type, within the same shutter opening period, the result seems to get a little less predictable. Maybe with more experience I'll find it easier. Here, I combined two ICM shots for the background, used different Blend Modes for each and backed the the lower layer with a solid colour layer. That got rid of any burned-out whites. Your critique would be helpful if you have the time, and is appreciated. I should add that you've seen the figure previously, it was just handy to re-use her in this experiment.

I appreciate your explanation that it is two separate images for the background. It makes sense once you explained it. Interesting to use a solid layer of color to make everything become mostly uniform. Really nice. Very creative.

Thanks Erich. Sky (which naturally burns-out with this process) can be a pain. It has to be dealt with somehow. The lady tutor doesn’t take images with sky in them. That’s one solution!
