In my Windows 11 system right click on image, then copy and paste works every time, have never had a problem.

Are you using 11Pro or 11Home?? I use ClipMate and enjoy picking from a stored list of copy saves anytime I want days or weeks ago saves. I do not want to switch to 11 for that reason alone.

Yep - Ctrl C to copy, Ctrl V to paste

Nothing.
But when one uses a mouse for 99+% of file movements,
the keyboard seems awkward.

That's a keyboard shortcut. Some people have to wave a mouse around and click, click, click on stuff. I once took a Photoshop class offered by my camera club and when I suggested using keyboard shortcuts they all considered me to be an elitist. One guy came right out and verbally expressed his contempt. Why use a single key to access a tool when I can click a menu, click a sub-menu, click and flyout then choose a tool and click it?

There is always Ctrl C to copy and Ctrl V to paste. The Icons are there at the top of the menu too but folks invented the alphabet thousands of years ago as hieroglyphics are inferior.

Only to those who don't know what the 'gliphs mean.

Some people can't even use words correctly or coherently.

But you're not explaining that you are clicking on the copy icon, not the word "copy".
The copy icon is also available on the menu in Explorer without right-clicking.

I right click on what I want to copy, a menu comes up, I choose copy, then I go to where I want to paste it, then click paste and there it goes, I click on the word "COPY". I can paste anywhere i want.

What Windows?
In Win 7 the word come up on the first right-click menu, Win 11 requires a second click on more options to see the "word".
But the fact that the copy icon is in the menu at the top of Explorer, requires NO right-click.

Does it require two clicks to get to the word "copy", like clicking on "More Options" in Win 11? Mine does. But NOT in 7.

And it comes back to my original question. When I right click on the file the list comes up but no copy or paste. To get to copy or paste I have to click on more options. If I am not mistaken I can do that from Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10 but not 11. My question is how to do that in Windows 11.

The way they programmed the 11 right-click pop-up, there are two now (instead of one large menu). Their "improvement"?
Maybe they thought people would use the copy icon in the top of the Explorer menu.
I will from now on, no extra clicking.....
(Old habits are hard to break sometimes.)
