Wow Dave, now that one I really like. Wonderful use of colors but I think the reflection makes the photo.

I Love it!! The red colouring (how’s that for an American?) is spectacular and just pops. The overall image just smacks of “look at me”. Don’s reflections on the image say it all. Thank you, dpullum.
What is a displacement map?

An image you can either create from scratch or you can use an existing image. It needs to have ‘form’ that will correspond with the effect required. You then apply that to your reflection image and get the effect of ripples. Do an online search Ellen (can’t remember whose I used) there’s tuts that will explain all. Each time I do it (I’ve tried both methods successfully) I have to look-up the procedure again.
Excellent bit of spelling by the way!🤗

Glad you like it Erich. As I mentioned to Linda, the reflection used a displacement map - really the only way I’ve found to get something realistic, better than a simple Ps filter.

I'll probably be asking you more about creating reflections and shadows soon. Thanks.
Erich

Striking Image! I love it, especially the textures in the figures!

Pleased you like it Veralisa, it has appeared here previously in other forms and with a hand-standing statue on a horse's head in the water - but that element didn’t go down well with the crew. It looks far more balance here. As you well know, textures can do so much, and be unpredictable, but they are the secret to success for this type of look.

By the way, if you hit the Quote Reply button when responding your comment is linked to the person you’re responding to - all of us took a while to catch-on to that when we first joined.

Unfortunately, I didn’t download it yesterday so I’m afraid I missed out.

I know what you mean! The box at the bottom of the page is too inviting! But if you look at the post you’re reading there will be a ‘Quote Reply’ button at the bottom of that post - that’s the one to hit. You’ll soon get the hang of it all - the other thing we all like is for you to hit ‘Store Original’ when choosing the image to load, that way we can enlarge it with good resolution and really pull it to bits!😊

That a pity Ellen (assuming it’s good!). I’ll see if Don can help me out with some instructions.
