In 50 years the US will look like Cuba, a bunch of old American Gas burners.

In 50 years if the technology evolves and EV’s are the most economical and efficient mode of transportation then I’m fine with it even though I’ll be rotting in the dirt then.

When we had the infrastructure in place to support a switch to all electric then I am on board, been in a hybrid for 10 years now.

When they have an affordable EV that can tow 20,000 pounds for 500 miles I’m all in.

Without a customer base, the infrastructure will never be built. Without the infrastructure, the customer base will increase very slowly. That's why government subsidies make sense. What hybrid do you drive, and how do you like it?

Blg comfortable Toyota Avalon, hope to get 300,000 miles on before I kick the bucket. It runs great, drives great, and gets 35 plus miles per gallon mixed driving. I do not believe in the extent of giveaways the Ca. gives purchasers of EVs. Let the manufactures build the infrastructure to support the switch. Currently they are using the diamond lane to entice people to purchase expensive EVs, I find it very wrong to clutter diamond lanes with one passenger in a costly vehicle, the diamond lane was developed to entice carpooling, not to be a EV lane. We should check on how these vehicles are taxed for road use as we are in our fuel taxes.

carpooling was encouraged for the same reason that electric vehicles are being promoted. The only thing that will infrastructure to grow at a more rapid rate is more need for it.

Car pooling has been here a long while and it promoted less traffic and encouraged carpooling, a 90 thousand Tesla, or a $30,000 Prius with one occupant is not a carpool. My tax dollars and your tax dollars are paying for these free rides in the diamond lane and all the tax credits they get.

You really need to broaden your knowledge with respect to world oil supplies...who has how much reserves, who pumps it, who uses it, how are prices determined...

Tell me, who is the biggest producer of oil in the world? How long is our supply expected to last at the current rate we are extracting it? Who is the biggest oil consumer in the world? Are we a net importer or exporter? Will buying oil from other nations extend our supplies?

I'm sure that wouldn't be of interest to someone who has never been allowed to drive.

So, who exactly do you think this is helping? Who is helping the poor and the lower middle class recover from all the high gas prices the past 2 1/2 years? Are they going to be reimbursed? Gas prices are still higher than they were before Biden took over office.
