While along the Snake River I did not concentrate on only insects but on some interesting plants as well.
The red fruit looking like wild plums wasn't plums at all. I tried one and they were not ripe yet whatever it was. The bottom of the fruit also had an opening somewhat like on rosehips. I would appreciate if anybody knew what it was.

In my series of photos I show a red fruit that I initially thought might be a type of wild plum. A friend who lives here in Idaho Falls pointed out they are not plums at all but are Rosehips. I had considered that because the bottom of the fruit has petals that flare out but have never seen any larger than the tip of my pinky. These will be worth exploring in a month to see if they are ripe.
