Beautiful car and unique doors. I'd like to take it for a spin if I had help getting out.

It's kind of pretty in a gearhead sort of way. It's too bad that they couldn't squeeze out some performance...

I think it's too bad that someone didn't take this car, the way they did the Avanti after Studebaker abandoned it, and continued production. It could have been updated and repowered and made into a real competitor for the 'Vette.

I agree. That's why the fiberglass tubs needed a fuel injected 427 to get them to move. I would bet that the Darrin's were a great deal lighter and could have had some kind of performance squeezed into that engin compartment.

Having seen terryMc's UHH post on September 4 of a beautiful Kaiser Darrin, I remembered having seen and photographed one of these cars in a city park in central Wisconsin last summer. It was a beautiful setting with a lagoon on one side of the road, and the lovely Wisconsin River on the other side. I asked the owner if he minded me taking a few shots of the car and he said, "Help yourself. Take all the images you'd like!" What an invitation for a car nut with a little travel camera (Lumix ZS200) in hand! Enjoy. And thanks again to terryMc for the reminder my 80+ year old brain needed!

Artistry in auto design has gone the way of all good things. That one is a beauty.
