This stinks.

So we have a Friday announcement that the guy that was willing to let Hunter walk on all the charges is going to be the new special council to investigate Hunter Biden.

David Weiss is already bought and paid for and now he can block congressional inquiry because there is now a "special council" investigating.

Yup, it's special all right.

I hope that we are wrong but I totally agree with you, just more insulation from justice for the Bidens. In my opinion it is ridiculous to believe that a clear cut tax evasion case and gun violation takes 5 years to prosecute, it is all BS, deep state protection for a powerful democrat family.

By statute, Weiss can't be a Special Counsel. That person has to be a non-Federal Government employee. Garland is a real numb nuts.

Well smart Frank there is this......

"§ 600.3 Qualifications of the Special Counsel.
(a) An individual named as Special Counsel shall be a lawyer with a reputation for integrity and impartial decisionmaking, and with appropriate experience to ensure both that the investigation will be conducted ably, expeditiously and thoroughly, and that investigative and prosecutorial decisions will be supported by an informed understanding of the criminal law and Department of Justice policies. The Special Counsel shall be selected from outside the United States Government. Special Counsels shall agree that their responsibilities as Special Counsel shall take first precedence in their professional lives, and that it may be necessary to devote their full time to the investigation, depending on its complexity and the stage of the investigation.

(b) The Attorney General shall consult with the Assistant Attorney General for Administration to ensure an appropriate method of appointment, and to ensure that a Special Counsel undergoes an appropriate background investigation and a detailed review of ethics and conflicts of interest issues. A Special Counsel shall be appointed as a “confidential employee” as defined in 5 U.S.C. 7511(b)(2)(C)."

Not a lawyer; didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. I'm still smart enough to listen to lawyers who know. Obviously something you never do.

And you're still among the Fauci Kool Aid drinkers as to COVID-19. Fauci, et al, should be criminally prosecuted for their idiocy.

Now they are wanting to move the trials to DC and California even though Hunter during that period listed his residence in Delaware as well as received his billing in Delaware...... This is starting to smell like a shit sandwich. Amazing how corrupt Democrats are and how deep that corruption runs through their administrations. God forbid that Garland were ever to sit on the SCOTUS.

The gun charge has been ruled unconstitutional by an appellate court, don't know if is the court that has jurisdiction over his case, but the supreme court has been differential when it comes to gun rights, so I'll bet if they get it they will throw it out. This US attorney was appointed by Trump, and when Biden replaced all the other US attorneys, he kept this one because he had this case and he didn't want to be seen as interfering. You are allowed to believe what you want, but when you post stupid things not based on fact, expect to be called on it.

Who gives a damn who appointed the US attorney, he has proven himself to be just another swamp creature. He hid a get out of jail for free card in an ancillary agreement that was presented to the judge the day of the hearing which clearly he did not expect her to find. He declined recommended prosecutions in the case. He lied to both his investigators and to congress about his ability to prosecute. He put the former Baltimore police commissioner in prison for the same crime that Hunter committed but for a fraction of the value that Hunter did not pay.... He allowed the most serious tax crimes to run out the statute of limitations and the felonies that Hunter committed were charged as misdemeanors and probation was recommended. The Police commissioner skated on $67K, Hunter $2 million but the commissioner does time and Hunter doesn't?

And you think that Republicans are lunatics for suggesting that there is a 2 tiered justice system in this country. Merrick Garland has done nothing that would begin to restore faith in the DOJ, he only continues to destroy it.

Misdemeanor tax charges, where the taxes have already been paid are seldom prosecuted. Having a firearm while being a drug user is rarely prosecuted, and one appellate court has found it unconstitutional.

Republicans are such whining crybabies. No matter what happens, they will always claim they are being treated unfairly and persecuted. So tired of the constant infantile whining.

That's why the IRS agents testified in front of congress that Hunter got special treatment.
