Going the e-mail rounds.

I’m told that this was once a full-sized pickup truck. I be that the driver did not make it!

I did over a million miles when I owned my own trucking company. People are IDIOTS when it comes to driving. This specific incident may not have involved idiocy but there's a high probability it did.

I’ve seen an accident on I-95S exactly like this late one night. Apparently the car pulled out of a rest area directly in front of a 18 wheeler going maybe 70mph, and what was left, looked just like this. I’m not easily shaken, but this caused me to stop at the next exit to collect myself.

About 50 years ago The garage I worked for got a wrecker call at about 2:am on new years morning a couple going home from a NYE party for some unknown reason stopped in the middle lane of I270 and had no lights by the time the driver saw it all he could do was hit it or hit other cars to avoided it, they went off the road into the median the Cadillac was under the tractor and the tractors front axel was jammed into the drive axes and they were almost knocked out from under the tractor shortly after all movement had ceased the car and semi caught fire both the driver and co-driver got out with minor injuries , the couple didn't. It took us 16 hrs, Three wreckers, and two flatbeds to clean it up, they're not enough left for an identity of the couple.
I felt really bad for the Truck Driver!!!

When I see someone driving oddly they are playing with their phone. I would think that is what happen in this case.

Yes, many people don't take driving seriously, and it doesn't matter what they're driving.

My wife and I were rear ended on Tuesday, by an unlicensed 17 year old kid. He said he dropped his water bottle and bent down to pick it up. It could have been worse, but $3,000 worth of repairs and back pain are now realities. No do overs, pay attention drivers!

Most of the big trucking companies have crash avoidance systems installed now. When you cut in front of them going down the road it sets off lights and buzzers and slows them down and also will alply the brakes

"dropped his water bottle." That is so much a 21st century thing.

That reminds me of a very good, funny movie - "Defending Your Life," with Albert Brooks, Rip Torn, and Meryl Streep. While driving his brand-new Porsche, he reaches down to pick up a CD, or something, and he's killed in a crash. It's funny from that point on.

My GPS gives me warnings like that, and my son's 2020Fit has similar warnings. I don't think it hits the brakes, though.

You can tell if trucks are equipped most of the time by the square cutout in front bumper and no license plate in the middle

I drive a 45-foot 50,000-lb Bus RV that has an alarm system to notify me when a vehicle is too close or if I get too close to the center line so that's a big help. Far too many automobile drivers fail to understand that when I travel at highway speeds, my stopping distance is not the same as theirs.

The real idiots quickly switch lanes so close in front of me that I lose sight of them. I can only imagine that they must enjoy gambling and playing Russin Roulette.
