You know what they say about a blind dog and a bone? So, Congrats! Score one for the Canon/Sony team and sleep well tonight.

There is no Canon/Sony team (LOL).

Sony and Nikon have been business partners for many years. And all of Nikon's top cameras, DSLR and mirrorless use Sony-made image sensors. So Sony wants Nikon to succeed as it gets a piece of the pie for every Nikon sold.

And the Sony/Nikon relationship goes further. Sony owns part of Tamron, and Nikon is collaborating with Tamron for new Tamron-badged Z-mount lenses, and new Nikon-badged Z-mount lenses that are internally the same Tamron lenses made for E-Mount. So again Sony wants the Nikon/Tamron collaboration to succeed.

As a former Nikon, Canon and current Sony user, I want Nikon to succeed as we need a healthy Nikon in the industry to keep the rest of them innovating.

The Z8 issues will be sorted out and in a few months will all just be memories. The Z8 is still selling great, all around the world. All new cameras, from all brands have had their own teething issues, and that includes Canon mirrorless and Sony too. Just a fact.

You just need to know from many of his UHH threads, and comments, the real agenda of the architect here. It is to bash the quality of Nikon, and thereby boost his fanboyism worship of everything Canon and only Canon, and not really to provide any news service to the UHH community. And no brand has had more legendary issues with its new releases than Canon mirrorless.

Cheers and best to you all.

Go look at his history. His #1 purpose for being here seems to be bashing Nikon. Now he’s trying to spin it like he was just being helpful.

Who cares?
He made a statement of fact and the information was useful.
Move on.

But then he has made Canon fanboy statements in all the threads about this issue, gleefully bashing Nikon quality. His agenda is obvious and not just passing on this news.

He never believes Canon is anything but perfect and the best of everything, all the time, and goes out of his way to bash any brand OTHER than Canon. . (LOL).

He never made any "statement of fact" about Canon for its horrible overheating of its mirrorless releases, that totally shut down, even during still shooting, and even after putting the cameras in a freezer to recover from overheating.

It took TWO years for Canon to fully correct. He wrongly still claimed recently here in UHH that Canon took care of that right away, which is NOT a "statement of fact". These are the facts.
https://www.eoshd.com/news/2-years-later-canon-quietly-removes-fake-overheating-limits-of-eos-r5-in-firmware-update/

We dont buy his false cover of helpfully passing on information ,when his other agenda is very clear. Our eyes are open. He gets no credit here from me and others here in UHH who know him so well.

Cheers and best to you.

The OP, in this thread only, made a statement of fact. Helpful to some. Benign to others.
But you need to disparage this thread by the OP because of the OP's other comments and threads in the past.
If this made any sense at all, then just about anyone who posts something helpful, could be criticized for their other comments and opinions.
So I guess, in your world, one can only be 'ok' if they meet your standards from the get go.
Cheers and best to you.

His “statement of fact” was that he was right and whining about getting bashed. He offered no other information in this thread. There was nothing useful.

It was useful to me. I didn't know about the 'recall' until I saw his thread.
What other information was he to provide?
And his whining was rightful indignation. Though not necessary.
So, it appears 'there was nothing useful' to you. So, speak for yourself.
Thanks OP. I brought in my Z8 to Melville on 8/7. Picked it up today.

But he didn’t start the thread. Only commented that he was right.
