Nikon has updated their service advisory for the Z8 to include both the mount issue and the strap eyelet issue. So it's official that they have the strap eyelet issue.

WOW.
And I was bashed for mentioning this, and being told by UHH that it was a fake story.

I can only sympathize and say, Somebody get a rope. As you know that happens a lot here on UHH.

IF I could afford a Nikon Z8 and had bought one I would be concerned with what Nikon is doing about it, factory recall, etc.

I am curious now if you will contact Nikon to ask what is going on, officially from Nikon, and what are they doing.

Good luck.

Dennis

Dennis,
I was just providing information as I said originally as a warning for the owners to be aware of.
Nothing more or less.
No commentary on the original post just information.

Thanks for the update of the update.
I was hoping that Nikon had also checked the eyelets when my Z8 was in for the mounting issue. When I log into the site with my serial #, the eyelet advisory recall only comes up. Guess it was not checked.
While I had done the 'self-tug test' suggested; I will bring it into Nikon...again.

I just read today that Nikon is currently checking all Z8 that come in now for both issues regardless.

"mikeroetex
. Just wondering how a rumor became facts. I mean, the site is called Nikon RUMORS. I remember rumors about the Z8 being a 60mp camera. How did that turn out? So far I have only seen two reports of lugs pulling out and we don’t know if that is a trend or a proven defect. Even 500 legitimate accounts would be statistically insignificant to amount produced."

Proof That I was correct in spite of the hateful responses earlier:

And yet the arguing has not ended on the UHH. Vindication does not seem to be a UHH concept.

Bashing the Z8 to us Z8 owners, is like bashing Trump. You aren't going to change any minds.

We love the camera in spite of a couple of initial faults, so go away. If you don't own one don't be concerned.
