Sony does still, IMHO, have the most comprehensive lineup of lenses, including both OEM and third-party, which is (or at least should be) a factor for new purchasers.
I agree with you on that.

Anyone with experience yet with this latest of the A6000 series?
I have the original A6000 and each time they produce a newer version with more bells and whistles I'm tempted but this time I truly am expecting to jump in.
Your upgrade from your A6000 to a A6700 would be a prudent move in your case; bigger battery, better EVF and rear screen, much better AF and tracking. much better video performance, better dynamic range, better IBIS and more.
Yes I think the A6700 could have been better, but is the best APS-C offering from Sony at this point. If you wish to stay with APS-C and not move up to the fullframe A7III, you might also do comparisons of the A6700 to the less expensive A6600.

Not likely. Sony has its A9III coming, touted to be "the fastest camera ever". Canon has its flagship R1 due out next year and it is touted by Canon to "be the camera that rules them all', LOL.
And surely before the Olympics there will a second generation flagship Nikon Z9 and second generation flagship Sony A1. And Fuji, OM-systems and Panasonic wont be standing still either.
And dont forget whichever brand is the first to deliver a fullframe global shutter camera to the consumer market. That will be huge and an exciting game-changer for sure.
And there are medium format curved-sensors and curved-sensor lenses already patented and in development also.
Lots of big and exciting new camera releases coming.
Cheers and best to you.
In a slew of excellent reviews of the A6700, here is one today with a different point of view from motion picture filmmaker and photographer Markus.

The A6300 is 404 grams, the A6700 493 grams. That's about 3 ounces!

The size of the body has changed and is thicker in the A6700. Some will love that, others maybe not. I make no bones about that either way. Markus is a superb photographer, so it was interesting to see his take after actually using the A6700.
IMHO, Markus makes a good case for the A7C instead, nearly the same size but with a fullframe sensor. Let's see what the upcoming fullframe A7CII and A7CR bring to the table in this small size.
Initial sales of the A6700 are strong in Japan, where we have figures from Yodobashi chain of camera stores, and where the A6700 was released first.
Cheers and best too you

Actually the difference, 89 grams, is 3.13938 ounces, so not even close to 4.
But it's true the dimensions are bigger.

Granted that the A7C is full-frame and about the same body size, but what about the lenses?

Sony, Sigma and Tamron now have a bunch of excellent IQ, yet compact fullframe E-mount lenses available. Markus shows some of them in the video, compared side-by-side to APS-C E-mount lenses. Check it out.
