Anyone with experience yet with this latest of the A6000 series?
I have the original A6000 and each time they produce a newer version with more bells and whistles I'm tempted but this time I truly am expecting to jump in.

Since it's only available for pre-order right now, no one here is likely to have hands-on experience unless they got a pre-production example to test out and review!

But it does sound impressive, and at $1,400 for the body only, it seems like a good value. Shipping is expected at the beginning of August.

It looks like the main difference between it and the A6600 - which I have - is improved autofocus for still shots - like eye focus for birds. Many of the features of the A7 V have been incorporated.
Also improved stability, and some better features for video which I neither use nor understand.
I'm tempted!

Let's not forget that the now-venerable A6000 was a true "game changer" which started mirrorless cameras on the road to widespread and professional acceptance, and eventually ended the reign of the DSLR. With the A6700 Sony has come full-circle, and brought most all their advances in full-frame mirrorless technology back to the APS-C format. Only now, with contemporary AI noise reduction software, the benefit of full frame sensors is waning.

If you shoot action of any sort you will find that the a6700 rolling shutter is still pretty bad but is better than the a6000.
Beyond that it has years of improved technology over the a6000.
I would go for it and you will see a difference.

Thanks for all of your input. I'll watch the video MDI and wait until August. I've never had problems with action shots due to rolling shutter. Has anyone else? If you have a quick enough S speed I don't see there should be a problem.
Does it occur when using the green setting where the camera makes all your decisions perhaps, Architect 1776?

You can also get IBIS via the 6500 and 6600, either of which should save a few sheckels vs the new camera. Expect the 6700 to depress the price of the others.

The two reason I bumped up from the 6000 to the 6500 were IBIS and Silent Mode. Acoarst the OPs needs may differ.

It looks like the A6700 is a real winner - what we need now from Sony is a greater selection of APS-C format lenses - they are smaller and lighter than the full frame versions.
