These pics of Harbor Seals were taken on the Chiswell Islands in the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, Gulf of Alaska while I was on a boat tour in Kenai Fjords National Park.
Before we departed Seward aboard the Kenai Star, the forcast was for rain and fog with 3-5 ft. swells, but it was much better when we reached the gulf. The fog lifted and the wind subsided. The rain stopped and it was overcast.
Because of the yaw, pitch and roll of the boat, it was a challenge to get these pics. They were shot HH, in P-mode using a Canon EOS XSi w/EF 100-400mm L lens. PP and cropped w/PSE8.
Enjoy looking. Comments appreciated.

Yes, we enjoyed the voyage. 8 hours on a boat without getting sea sick and the food was good. We saw plenty out there. It was great! Thanks for looking.

Good photos Sir! I was there last year and also found it difficult to shoot from boat. The seals you have photographed are different than the all brown seals I saw.

Thanks, Jim. Because of the swells in the Gulf, my throw aways amounted to quite a few.
Are these the brown seals you saw? (click):

Yes they are! Northerns, Stellars I didn't realize there were different species. Really like your shots of them. Loved Alaska and can't wait to go back!
