Not many of us are left, I suppose, who were born and raised down on the farm. The saying goes, "You can take the boy out of the country, but you can't take the country out of the boy."
I feel really good seeing uniquely composed photos related to the vast rural areas that span America from sea to shining sea. Let's start a string of nothing but Farm Related Photos.
To get us started, here are three photo taken this summer at a county fair. They bring back memories of way back in the last century, when I was 10 years old I began driving an little old Allis Chalmers tractor, helping my father till the land.
John Deere Green
Treads
Minneapolis Moline Mean
Gotta love farm machinery. Signature colors that mark the brand.
Hey, rocco. I thought you were in hibernation, or something. I was afraid gessman & I had driven you off with another of your severe headaxches. Come on, dig out some of your old farm photos and let's enjoy them.

I am temporarily located away from all of my storage files. I'll be back in business after the 6th of November. I'll be posting regularlky after that. Oh, and for the most part, I dont scare easily.....
Well... when you're back in business, remember to be kind and gentle to the rest of us. We're easily disturbed, you know.

I am going to like this thread. I spent my teen years growing up on a farm and raised all of my children on the farm. Still here with in walking distance of the place I lived in as a kid. Her is a shot from our county fair. What kind of pictures do you want? Livestock? Equipment?

The Moline brings back memories. When I married my husband he came with a Moline. It had a hand clutch and I hated that thing. I wonder if I can find a picture of it somewhere.
I'm going to like this thread, too!
MOST of the area I live in is farm-land... plenty of subjects for me to get out and shoot.
And ya GOTTA love the smell of hay/straw... and cows that go "mooo!"... and goats... and chickens, I loved my Rhode Island Reds so much that I'd go out and sit with them and they'd get in my lap and let me pet 'em...
Yesssss.... LOVE farms.
(Although I wasn't raised on one.)
For now, here's this:
Permanent Break
Irrigating the Fields

If there's one thing Salem County has in abundant supply, it's abandoned farms. First two are a large but decrepit dairy operation in Swedesboro, NJ. Next two are in the Harrisonville/Woodstown area. Bottom is actually in Red Lion, Delaware but it's close enough to New Jersey to almost count.
I'm so happy to see such splendid images of rural settings. These are really TOP notch photos, guys! No contest involved, simply sharing thoughts, memories and impressions of rural Americana.
Here are more photos that have special meanings to me.
Abandoned Farm Pond and Well
A Neighbor Making The Best of a Bad Situation, Last Winter
A Neighbor's Moo Mailbox
Found Over 100 in This Patch
Die-Hard Photographer at a Fair Tractor Pull
Some old Colorado farm stuff...
These pictures are special to me.
The first one is at a friend's home place, built in the 1870s.
The second one makes me sad, because I remember it a happy home when I was a child.
The third one I saw along side the road as I was driving to my daughter's home in northern Indiana.
