A little old school workhorse...This is a tractor in a feild that I have past a million times near my house. Everytime I always said I have got to get a picture of that! I think its cool!!

the black and white appeals to me more because it is an old tractor. b/w generates a more nostalgic mood. If i may suggest try sepia tone, will give it a nostalgic old fashioned feel. This subject is ripe for my kind of photography, close up and details. for that the color would be better. plenty of shapes, line and forms to shoot. It saddens me that this classic is not being restored.
Great shots......the black and white looks like it was taken in the 1930's
I really like the Black 'n White. and the effectr you have gotten in post production gives the backgraund an almost infra-red feel.
I dont dislike the color shot, but for some reason the rust and grass blends and takes something away from the feel.
Nice job.
Thanks!! I think I am going to print some of these!
Here is a little sepia toning and a little aging and vignette

like the aging and sepia, never have seen the point to vignetting?
OH YEAH....the sepia gives the tractor the look of oxidized copper....This is the one!

I like the looks of vignetting actually....In this case it also helps mask a telephone pole on the right hand side

in that case its perfect. like a shot you would find on a small town bank calender.
Thanks everyone for the kind words! Is there anything I could have done to make them better? (other than restore the tractor...hahaa)
It is sad that it is rusting away in the field. But don't tell my husband about it ok.
Very nice shots.

I love the sepia and aging; however, the vignette hurts the image in my opinion. I understand your wanting to "hide" the telephone pole. Might I suggest a more simple approach. . .crop the telephone pole out, don't do the vignette and the increase the canvas size under image in Photoshop. . .say about 2" all the way around. I think this would really bring the eye to the tractor and make it snap.
Love the b&w and the sepia shots! Very cool!!
