What’s a good upload speed to upload videos? Mine sucks and takes way too long, a few minutes for a 10 sec clip. Want to upgrade my DSL speed but all the emphasis is on down load speeds. Your advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Get rid of DSL and find someone who provides fiber optic cable if such is available in your area.

Not available here. So what’s a good DSL speed to upload videos?

Minimum 10 Megabits per second… DSL is so 1990s. Typical DSL can’t get there.

If 5G service is available in your area, that could get around the DSL speed limit.

Short answer is the fastest you can obtain with your current connection if you can afford or justify the cost of upgrade.

Thanks. I live in a small town. We’re lucky to have what we have.

Yeah, Oregon is sparsely populated in areas and underserved. My sister's in Ashland. Service was spotty there until recently. My parents were there, too, and had DSL as late as 2012.

There may be hope coming with new federal legislation. We just got a questionnaire about our current service and needs. Siletz is the governmental center for the Siletz Tribe and trine's are a priority for the government push. Does fiber optic have to be physically connected to a residence or is there something like a micro wave connected ability?

Fiber here in NC runs down the streets. I'm not sure how fiber connects to homes, because I have cable Internet at the moment, and it's RG-6 cable from pole to house.

Local fiber speed is as fast as 1 GIGABIT per second.

I live in El Dorado County in California. Even though some parts have cable and internet, geographically most of the county is rural and is limited to line of sight internet where you have an antenna on your house that communicates with a transmitter/receiver on top of a hill somewhere. That sucks, though you can still get satellite TV with a dish on your roof. I suppose you could look into Starlink. That might be an option for you if you're willing to pay for it and the wait isn't too long.

If you get your internet via cable the download speed is much faster than upload speed. If you get fiber they are the same.

See if T-Mobile Internet or Verizon Home Internet is available in your area.

If it’s available, Google Fibre is the answer - symmetrical, 1Gb down and up.

I think Google is best but not available in my area. I also heard that TV from Google is less expensive because they don't do sports which I never want.

They’re 6 blocks from me, but I don’t know that they’re willing to run Fibre up my long driveway just for one customer, so I’m stuck with Spectrum for now 🙁
