This job is among the very highest honors a soldier can enjoy. Grueling preperation, and the tradition of no drinking, the highest of moral codes to wear the wreath these soldiers wear.

As stated above, to view the changing of the giuard is a spectacular , a privelege an honor and brings pride to anyone that sees it.

God Bless our soldiers dedication, the support they have from their loved ones.

I was witness to this very special service back in 1975 as a young cadet from a military school. It was one of the most emotional experiences and an exceptionally humbling one as well. It is worth the time if you are anywhere near the DC area.

workhorse, I'm sure he or she met no harm, looking
a the picture, I'm sure the date of this picture doesn't
really matter. Wishing that our political leaders would
learn something from this picture, I believe we as an
American, could all learn something.
Seeing the condition these soilders are willing to indure
to give HONOR to a fallen comrade is beyound words.
As a Viet Nam verterian, I may never know the name
of the soilder laying in the tomb, be he or she will always
remind me of all my comrades which I had the Honor
of serving with in my tour of duty.
I don't believe any one could really look at this picture
and turn way, not feeling any thing good about this
Country and the Proud men and women who are will
to give their all.
Have a great day my friend.

actually, that pick was a hoax, as far as being from Hurricane Sandy.

the pic was taken in September if I recall correctly

Actually, the picture is NOT a hoax. Maybe it wasn't during Hurricane Sandy but it is real soldiers guarding a real grave site in a real torrential downpour while you were sitting on your dead butt in your warm, dry house watching some dopey football game.

Just got back after working all day with my sons. LARRYR, I'm above ground so it is a great day! I saw two of my sons and two of my grandsons, it just doesn't get any better than that. The first time I saw the Wall I was in tears by the time I had walked 1/2 its length. And then my three sons and I watched the changing of the Guard and I will never forget thinking how proud I was to be able to claim some small part in that just by being a vet. Knowing that you are willing to serve regardless of the cost counts for so much. It doesn't make you special, just makes you an American!!
