That's what I do.
I always use this PC> c:\
and start there.
But I do have a shortcut or three on my desktop to my most used directories.

So what do you get if you navigate from that previous screen to the required folder?

???
re: my desktop shortcuts?
The normal operation of File Explorer. It simply goes right to the directory I want. No drilling down.

I'll guess your "looking through them" and the "pick an image screen" might be two different places.
Without you showing us a screen shot, we're only guessing...

If you are looking at the desktop folder, that could be why....
Not necessarily the same contents as the actual file directory.

Your previous screenshot showed you with the Quick access folder selected, can you do another screenshot when you navigate from quick access to your required folder, please?

Get out of Quick Access! Use the up arrow to the left or that label and navigate to "This PC", then "(C:)". Then navigate to where the photos are. They may be in the "Users" folder in (Your Name)/One Drive.

If you right click the "_Original" folder in the view you showed, then click "Properties", it should show you the actual location.

Both seem to show you are still using Quick Access. Since you can't grasp what folks are telling you, try something different. Open the email you are using to send the pictures. Open the pictures folder, not Quick Access, copy and paste the pictures from the picture folder directly into the email.

It works for me.

Good Luck
