Several years ago, I posted a thread in the photo gallery section praising global warming entitled "April in December; No Snow, No Stockings, No Problems" It showed a Christmas Eve Party in central New Jersey where some of the ladies were wearing short dresses with bare legs, along with a few shots of flowers blooming while Christmas decorations were on display. Needless to say, I was enjoying the unseaonably mild weather. For the most part, this winter has been a repeat performance in the middle atlantic region. Now it looks like the chickens have come home to roost. Yesterday a four foot long live alligator was pulled out of Brooklyn's Prospect Park lake. Due to its size, I don't think it was a recently discarded pet. Most owners would release it before it grew to a dangerous size. Furthermore, it would be quite difficult to sneak it into the park once it grew to that size. I suspect managed to live and grow for quite a while before it was caught, feeding on the available, fish, frogs, ducks, and turtles in the lake. Unlike crocodiles, gators can withstand relatively cold temperatures. If it could manage to survive that long in the Northeast, Virgina, and Maryland might have their own breeding population before long. Think about it, before you jump into your favorite swimming hole
Not sure what the problem is...the climate has never been static.
Warming is better than cooling....no contest.
It's a lot of noise and scare tactics...helping to gain coin and power.
Nothing new...just a new crowd to fall for stuff like this...it's not that hard to tip the herd over.

LOL...so true!!!!!
The inconvenient truth...want more fresh water...more food...less pneumonia...get on board the warming train.
It's always about coin...and power.
It's going to continue, since no one is reacting to it. It could get a lot worse, and it could get really ugly. If mass starvation, the geopolitical changes could be really bad. The events of the last few years could pale in comparison.

It's going to continue...because we cannot actually stop anything.
Not much has happened so far...not sure what you mean.
There's a lot fanning of smoke...trying to gain coin and power...that never changes.
But the Earth is in charge...as is the sun...not us.
Unfortunately, that's not entirely true... we can, by our actions, influence what happens. Not for most stuff, but for climate we can have a real impact.

The math does not hold up.
By accounts...mans contribution of carbon (which is a good element btw)...is around 3-4% of the total amount in the atmosphere.
Not possible...the sleight of hand is not that there is global warming...but notice that is where 95% of the argument is kept.
The sleight of hand is mankind can stop anything the earth is inclined to do...by itself or with a push from the sun.
Part of our narcissism.
And the third world isn't buying it...why should they.
It sure does... there's a strong correlation of earth temperatures and the carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and there is a strong scientific basis for this to have an effect on the amount of heat from the sun that is trapped. There's also strong evidence that the increased carbon dioxide has been created by man's activities since the beginning of the industrial revolution. There is also strong evidence that the carbon dioxide levels are the highest since mankind (binary term) has been on earth. Sorry guy...

show quote)
There is zero correlation of carbon and temperatures historically...violations of that position is rife in the data.
It doesn't matter...note how you immediately flipped to ... it's happening.
Yes it is happening.
No there is nothing that can be done to stop it...we are not in charge.
I've read tons...believe me. My assessment of the situation is accurate.
The climate is going to do...what it is going to do.
That's the canard ... that we can alter it...we cannot.
Besides the Paris accord has already failed...but it was always...symbolic in nature...not a solution at all.
It's meant to realign power and coin...for the new money troughs that have been setup.
Lastly...we have the actual solution for carbon output...if that is a such a calamity...cold fusion...we have done it.
We now have the methodolgy...so it's go time to free the world from fossil fuels...and zero carbon output for our energy needs.
So...where is the stampede to cold fusion from the 'Greenies Movement"?
Nary a peep.
They don't want cold fusion now...they have these new money troughs all set up. New power behind it.
There isn't a new breed of self conscious man out there....just manipulators and the naive...as always.

No, it’s about rising sea level (with a serious effect on coastal cities where a large portion of the US population lives), stronger storms, melting glaciers, warning oceans destroying essential parts of the ocean’s ecosystem, drought, and insect outbreaks. In turn, these changes have made wildfires more numerous and severe. The warming climate has also caused a decline in water supplies, reduced agricultural yields, and triggered heat-related health impacts in cities and that’s just a start.

...and that could be the scary part.
