Need some help if anyone has it. I haven't actively sought any photo work for pay in quite a while. Recently got a job photographing architecture for a manufacturer that produces decorative concrete blocks.

Does anyone out there know of a web site or program that can be used to produce a professional looking invoice for freelance work?
Thanks to all.

Do you have MS Office?
It has invoice templates inside.

Most of the Office programs do.
eg Open Office is a free very strongly featured office program that also has invoice templates.

Have you looked at Quickbooks? I think that's kind of the small business standard.

I just did a search on my Quicken Home & Business, and it had 100 topics listed under Invoice. That's a sensibly priced program. Before you spend the money, make sure it can do invoices.

Yes, you can make an invoice with Quicken Home & Business.

If you have MS Office (Excel) as someone already mentioned, I have a nice automated invoice Excel file that I made myself with macros and VBA code. It acts as a statement and invoice together, keeps track of payments received and what is still owed. You keep each invoice as a seperate sheet and it has an index page the lists all your invoices and a summary of each one (what is paid and owed). The Index page summary also tells you whether the event is over or if you still have to do the event. You can double click any event from the index page and it will jump right to that invoice page. You can put notes off to the right of each invoice, but when you print, the notes will not print, only the invoice will.
It would take some minor teaching on how to use it, but if you have Excel and are interested, let me know and I will make it available for you to download...

For keeping track of your money Quickbooks is pretty much the standard. I do all my accounting in QB and give the results to my accountant. I use "Business and Legal Forms for Photographers" by Tad Crawford. You can get it on Amazon. It has a CD with all the forms a photographer needs including Model Release.

NCH Software has a FREE version of Express Invoice which I use. It is supported only on line as opposed to purchasing it and getting call in support. Takes a little getting used to but it works just about as good as Quick Books. If you're not a real busy full time business it will be OK. You can step up to Quick Books when the time comes.

I use paypal for all of my client billing, it's quick easy and you can design or just add your logo to the invoice format. it makes accounting so much easier.
