Seen and photographed at a local cruise night this red '63 Ford Galaxie 500XL was stunning! And, what could be better than a 390 4 speed? (square cropped maybe for a future 6x6 tile)

thanks Dave, a 427 surely would be nice, but I think for all around use the 390 might be easier to live with. I would take this car in a heartbeat. Did you get to see the rear view over on flickr? The car is mint perfect!

Pretty sure the 427 was a Chevy thing. Ford's biggie was the 429 during that time frame.

Had a black one in 1969! Put 30,000 miles on it on less than a year cruising weekends from Cherry Point, NC to Ct!

Not true! The 427 had the reputation and demand after it was released in '63 to replace the 406. The venerable 429 came just before the 460.

Nice shot Vin. My dad had a '63 Mercury with a 390...it's a good thing that gas was cheap back then!

thanks, true that Ray, being really old I can actually remember price wars at 19.9...not even Trump could beat that, haha
