This hard case Pelican knock-off has been through customs many times and traveled domestically as well. Fits under the seat easily. You can also carry another bag nested on top next to the handle with a couple of bungee cords or other fasteners of choice. I have all my gear just arranged inside as needed with no inserts. All cameras are in soft covers by Op/Tech and all lenses are in soft or hard lens cases. Nothing rubs and nothing moves. Maximum space utilization. Change arrangement of gear anytime to suit current needs. I also noticed it was available on Amazon for a few bucks less. Surprised to see that. Great value. Might buy a second one.
As a matter of fact, I just ordered a second one from Amazon. Great price.

I have a vanguard roller bag and since I'm an old guy I always ask someone to help but it in the over head.
Vanguard is my favorite. Excellent design and manufacture with a wide variety to choose from. Based in Michigan with a showroom, if you’re in the area.
This case is excellent. It holds a lot of gear, is very sturdy and protected my cameras, lenses, etc. well. One traveled as carry on, one as baggage. It traveled by plane from Alaska to the east coast without incident. SKB Cases iSeries 3i-2011-7 Case with Think Tank Designed Zippered, Black (3i-2011-7DZ). Purchased at Amazon but also available else where. The backpack feature is excellent. You get the best of both options as a carry on for travel and use as a back pack at your destination. TSA approved locks are also available.
Philo, I have the same bag. It serves me well. When I try to lift it, some nice person will always help me. (Wink)
Think tank is the leader in tough but expensive rollers. Google “rolling camera bags” and you’ll get an afternoon’s reading. Vangaard seems a less expensive favorite but Lowepro and Tamrac both have offerrings.
