My back has been bothering me and I'm looking for a rolling camera bag/pack for air travel. I know about vibrations and all and i can pad for this. Does anyone have any suggestions that will fit under most airplane seats? I'm not concerned about really small airplanes. Also, i dont want to hear about placing the case in the overhead bin. Remember, my back is bothering me. Either roll my gear or leave my camera and a couple of lenses home. Thanks, all.

Google Baggallini under seat rolling bag. I used one for years for my laptop and other stuff. You can pad with pieces of foam, rig a camera insert bag inside, etc. I know I can get a Nikon D750 and one or two lens inside. And it doesn’t scream expensive camera bag.

I have a vanguard roller bag and since I'm an old guy I always ask someone to help but it in the over head.

If it were me, I'd reconsider not using the overhead. In my travels, I've never had a problem with not being able to get a fairly heavy bag with my gear in the overhead. If it was too heavy for me to manage on my own, I'd simply ask a young fellow-traveller for an assist. NEVER was I refused! Most people are happy to help.

I traveled by plane to Colorado, 3 stops with plane changes and had no problem fitting my Think Tank Airport Advantage under the seat with room on each side for my feet. Very well made bag, with a front pocket for my 17" laptop.

By the time i get my feet under the seat there is little room left for anything.

And don’t book an aisle seat, the foot space is smaller.

I used a ThinkTank Airport Navigator for years - fits under the seat, holds a laptop, D750 with several lenses, etc. And it's built like a tank.

Think Tank makes some very nice rollers, some of which may fit under the seat. Check out the B&H or Think Tank site. I have two. One will and one won't. I ask for help as needed, and have never been denied! Best of luck.

"Does anyone have any suggestions that will fit under most airplane seats?"

I have an old Eagle Creek two piece set. The big part fits the overhead and the little part fits under the seat. They zip together so that the small bag will piggy back on the larger one with wheels. After takeoff, I slide the small bag back against my seat so that I can put my feet under the seat in front of me. The combined space is enough that I can enjoy a 30 day trip without checking baggage.

It is getting old enough that I may have to replace it. That gave me an excuse to research a bit. Turns out that, like so much in the airline industry, it is a can of worms. There is no standard size! Each airline and each aircraft model in that airline may be different!

I found a couple summaries. One suggests LESS than 16"x12"x6". But, that might be too big for my Seattle based Alaska Airlines. https://www.cleverjourney.com/underseat-luggage-size-guide/

This is not a camera bag, but it looks like an 'affordable' option: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0762VC1XB?tag=subslink-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1

Think Tank Airport Advantage. Fits under seats and in the tight overhead compartments of small commuter airplanes (like CRJs).

I love Think Tank bags, own a few. This under-the-seat one from Amazon that you linked looks very good also.

I put my camera bag and an extra lens in side a spinner that will fit overhead. You can also fit a sweater, munchies, iPad or whatever else inside it also. If you have a bad back then sitting on the aisle is always good, so you have squiggle room with your feet and body. Take it from someone who has radio frequency done in back and neck a lot.

Thanks for your question. I've plans to go to Iceland, and I really want to take my new R5 and its 100-500 lens. My current bag is too big.
