Do not delete anything until you are sure you have images where you want them. Good luck.
Is that logically (in the catalog) or physically (on the disk)...
People need to understand that the catalog is not a
file system like Windows <Explorer>, it is a database (LIST) of the images that are in the file system on the computer and where they are located in the file system.
KTRN23 you have received lots of good advice from people that know what they are talking about. The only thing I would add is that as you develop and revise your system, WRITE IT DOWN. You will get deep engrossed in some of the problems you will encounter and after you work out a problem and say 'now where was I?' it helps to have a 'map' of where you are going.
Good luck to you and hopefully you will come to enjoy being organized and using your 'system'.
I have my LR cat organized by date, and I can find any photo I want. Very neat and easy for me.
what happened was I bought a new computer with win 11.
got everything transferred from old PC without any problems. Then I noticed that files on C: with files pictures, photos. Could not figure why I have all those files. They are all in the cloud and I am out of room. Had to get more storage. I have all my files on back up devices times 3.
