Oriental when used to describe a rug or other item is perfectly okay.
It is not okay to describe a person as Oriental.
Hope that helps.

Does the use of your phrase, "woke" imply that I'm enlightened and informed, or are you acknowledging that I have empathy for others?
If someone of Asian descent finds the term Oriental to be offensive when referring to people, who are you to tell them that their feelings are wrong?

Neither "enlightened and informed" nor having "empathy"!

It seems that before long, nobody ever again will be able to utter a word because somebody, somewhere, will "be offended". I guess it's inevitable that the pseudo-sensitive 0.01% will control totally the 99.99%. And it isn't really about sensitivity and being "offended", but about wanting power and control!!! I guess I should be highly offended at the expressions of those who are "offended" by my statements (of fact). Where do you get off this merry-go-round??? - or can you???

Nothing wrong with the term. It is misused when applied in this manner. Most "oriental" rugs were woven in Persia, now Iran. Not exactly in the orient. Never really saw them in the orient. Never saw them in "Nam.

Got mine in Hong Kong…locally made…and that's definitely in the Orient.

Totally loving those enchanting tousled blonde tresses so wonderfully showcased with halo illumination...
This alone takes her rendering entirely to the next level... Kudos PhotoArtist.

What follows comes what I've gleaned from working on too many commercial gigs and should not detract from your breathtaking offering here. They are only offered as food for thought since I've been called on same along my journey. First while maybe not obvious is the tension in this talents right hand/wrist. When shooting beauty/fashion editorials (what your image may be considered in my humble estimation) always coach the talent to lift her weight slightly off the hand but yet let her outstretched fingers lightly grace the carpet... This lends a gentle feminine touch to be perceived by the viewer. Yes it requires thoughtful bonding with the talent and perfect timing but art directors will insist on the aforementioned.

Loving her mauve eyes decor and lip treatment here... the gently closed eyes truly adds a dream like aura to the mix and her slightly parted lips add another lovely touch of mystique... the makeup artistry is wonderfully done.

Use of side illumination is superb for creating a three dimensional illusion in this two dimension rendering... A very elegant pose dynamic though there may likely better ways to handle her legs here. What I'm sharing is typically a crop at either the elbow or knee is generally to be avoided, again I've been called on this thus sharing same.

Hope this helps PhotoArtist or is at least food for thought...
