I didn't like him then and I didn't like his latest stuff. Back when he became famous there were so many others that were much better than him like Elvis, Chuck Berry, Bill Haley and so many others. All he did was on the piano were runs and stomped on the keys with his foot, real talent to do that.

Jerry Lee Lewis was good singer and piano player that was first and foremost ... an outrageous showman/entertainer.
Elvis POed my parents generation because he was a hip shaking white man that sang like a black man.
Jerry Lee Lewis was a white man flat out gone bad and sent them over the edge!

I doubt we'll ever see anyone of his caliber again. He was truly one of a kind. A great performer. "Performer" being the operative word.

I saw him at a rock and roll show when I was 11 years old and was mesmerized by him. Also saw Jackie Wilson at that show singing “Lonely Teardrops,” which was amazing, and Dionne Warwick singing “Don’t Make Me Over.” It was her first hit. She had buck teeth, but the following year her teeth were perfect.
