Don't discount West Virginia. I take a fall foliage trip each year and have been to Colorado, Vermont, Maine, the Carolinas, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, New York, Virginia, and Tennessee. So far the best fall color I've ever seen has been in the Adirondacks of New York, and West Virginia. The shot of the Mill was taken ten years ago this week and I have a cabin booked for this weekend in Babcock State Park, WV. It will be my 4th visit there.

the only real time I really trust is to call someone at my destination, someone at a hotel, NPS visitor center, etc. and ask: " how are the colors today ?" worked for me last year in Durango CO, and this year in Nephi UT
