I love it!! Love the B&W!! Love the composition and the textures!!! Good for you seeing more to these salt and pepper shakers than just utilitarian objects!!

Are these your shakers or did you photograph them at a restaurant? Like UTMike I'm wondering if you left the flares on purpose and what they are? I like the amount of (almost) negative space you have above them and cropping them out changes the balance; could you clone out the flares if you chose to eliminate them?

Thank you, Mike. I felt they, somewhat, worked as spotlights to provide illumination of the tops of the shakers.

Hi, Dodie. Thanks for the comments. As I mentioned to Mike, I felt they served, somewhat, as a source of illumination. There was one light per shaker and thus decided to leave them in. Yes, I could have cloned them out but that would leave the subjects isolated in space. I wanted just a hint of the light, which wasn't actually supplied by those lights.
