Dropbox has a free account available. I use one. When I want to share a file I can just have Dropbox give me a link to the file and I send that to the target audience. I've been using it for a couple decades and I have never had a complaint from a client about having to sign in.

If your friends and family don't want to use Amazon, wetransfer and dropbox are probably even less likely to be successful ... Why aren't they just on Facebook?

First, these folks are not family and friends. They are part of s square dance group that were holding an annual event. Many of these people are older and are not particularly computer literate. Some just are leary about putting their information on the internet and don't want to create an account. Their reasons for not being on Facebook are their own business. I'm just telling it the way it is.

Admittedly, sharing on Facebook is probably a good reason to reduce an image. Not only because Facebook will do it anyway, but because you might not want all your shared images out in the public domain at full resolution.

If you're intending them to edit or print those images, great, send 'full size'. For all other reasons, such as sharing those images for display purposes, you're just wasting their time or worse. Those files waste your time to upload / send. You waste their time to download / receive. Certainly, don't send me full-sized.

My experience indicates no sign in is necessary with Shutterfly. I have used it to share photos with family and friends for over 15 years. I just checked and that still works without sign in.

As I've mentioned before, if you have an account with Shutterfly, DropBox, Amazon Prime, etc, you will automatically be signed in and it will appear to you that no sign is required. However, if you don't have an account you will be required to create one.

They want to print. Asked and answered.

Recently, I photographed an event as a favor to my lady friend, I shared the images on my Amazon account thinking that they would be accessible by sharing a link to my shared account. The images are accessible but the viewer must sign in to their Amazon account or create a free account if they don't already have an account. Several people have stated that they don't want to create an account with Amazon even if free. I can understand this since many people want to limit being exposed on the internet. The same holds true for Dropbox and Shutterfly. I tried to use my Adobe account but any images that are downloaded are png files. While this would not be a problem for us Hoggers it is a problem for those that are computer challenged.

So my question is, "Do any of you know of a free site where I can share images without people having to log in or create an account?" The other requirement is that I want to be able to load images at their original size. I don't want the site to truncate the photos to a smaller size.

I use Amazon photos. You can upload full res, even raw.. in fact I use it for a bank up for some photos.

Just crazy an album, select the photos you want in it and click add to album. Then select the album. Once created, create a share link to the album. The viewer just clicks the link and they get access to that album only. The photos are also left in your original spot.

Edit, do not copy any raw photo to a shareable album. I would use jpeg.

As responded in other replies, and as expected of the computer-literate skills demonstrated by not wanting Amazon accounts, all these file-transfer ideas are equally (probably more) challenging for the intended recipients. More sense is to use multiple methods as a lowest common denominator won't be low enough for everyone. The FB post probably is the lowest common denominator, followed by a link to a public album like Flickr, maybe with a sentence mentioning how to invoke the slideshow if the link doesn't launch to a slideshow automatically. The goal is the share the images, right?

I agree that we disagree. YMMV.

Facebook is easy and ubiquitous but it reduces the photo size to fit its standard and reduces the image quality in the process.

I have found most people are satisfied with the icon level photos shown by Facebook. However, having a grudge against them I do something other than post there. This way the find out about photos on Facebook but get to see full resolution shots.

I use Smugmug which I believe is free to view by non-owners while at a modest cost to the owner. I post a link to the appropriate folder on Smugmug on my Facebook page.

I use "OneDrive" (Microsoft). I keep my saved files under 5GB so it's free.

They let me provide a link to any file or group of files.

I delete the folder / files after a bit to keep the overall size down.

No one has had a problem for several years.

I have an Adobe Lightroom account and I share lots of pictures using this by sending the person or persons a link which all they need to do is click on it and everything is there. You also have the ability to allow them to download the pictures should you choose to allow that.

That is incorrect, as many have pointed out already - not talking through their hats, but from personal experience

For Your Consideration section of UHH has been using dropbox for years to post the weekly challenge entries, including when I hosted the challenge in PP Forum in 2019.

You just need to generate the correct (public) link. Here is an example of one still up on ebrunner's account from December 2021: https://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-720812-1.html

However, there's an interesting possibility using Google Docs that Jim-Pops recently started using. See:

Send him a pm if you need more details.

Many of us have dropped our FB accounts for obvious reasons, including dislike of their security and advertising policies. In the past I was able to send a collection to my FB page via Lightroom, but I think this linkage has been disabled, not sure whether it was FB or Adobe.

I use a free weebly web site to organize my photos to show to others. So far no limit on pictures except they have to be smaller than 10 million bytes each.
Its free and many teachers (at least where I live in CA ) used to use it for their students and parents.
You can check out the websites I made below to see if they work for you
