Interested in a camera from them. Previously had good experience with them on lenses.

This time, on a Nikon camera, not so much. I asked them if the camera they were offering was a US or grey market, and they refused to answer. Gave me the S/N and said call Nikon. Right.

Others experience this with them?

(Hoping I got the staff nitwit).

The serial number should be all you need. Nikon can help you to determine if US or grey market.

The serial number alone won't do it. There is a good article from two years ago (so it should still be pretty accurate) on 'Nikon Rumors' that pretty well explains the predicament MPB or any other seller find themselves in with Nikon USA. They just don't or won't make it easy. You can find the article by copying the phrase "Nikon Rumors, the line between Nikon USA version and gray market" into a search engine and the link to the article should be near the top. How can B&H, Adorama or any other third party used seller give you an absolute answer if even Nikon can't or won't? I don't think CHG was trolling you, but rather just passing along the cold hard facts. Don't shoot the messenger.

OK, back one last time (despite troll).

I now have it in writing that it is USA origin.

Just took a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Order placed.

Thanks to those who sought to help.

While their answer isn’t strictly correct (Nikon doesn’t make anything in the US) it is good enough to keep with my records.

They were great to deal with for me. Bought a 14-30z F4 they said in excellent condition sent Tuesday and I received it today in the original box with all accessories ( not mentioned in description) and a blank warranty card USA model and I saved 500 dollars off retail I will say they were not the best at communicating voluntarily I had to press the questions however somebody did respond within an hour on the 4 emails I sent nothing to get in a huff about
My experience was delightful

Much to do about nothing.
