I have seen a few YouTube videos about an LED being powered by a magnet and two sparkplugs.  The sparkplugs are glued to a board oriented with the threads up and about two inches apart.  Wires are soldered to the threads and the electrodes.  The wires are then attached to a socket and an LED lamp is screwed in.  A toroidal shaped (donut) magnet placed between the sparkplugs and the LED illuminates.  No other source of electricity is shown.   Does anyone know if this really works?  Does it eventually kill the magnet? If it really works, I'll take my ancient carcass out to my shop and build one, but I do not want to waste what little energy I have left if this is bogus.    Thanks!

Last I knew, a magnetic field has to be moving through/around a coil of wire in order to generate electricity, AC electricity.
That's why generator armatures rotate, driven mostly by gasoline engines.

With the wires going to the spark plugs, there is no "coil", and there is no movement of the magnet.

You can try it, but don't expect anything.

My thought as well.

That circuit wont work. There is absolutely nothing in that circuit that can produce electricity as it is.
P.S. not a genius, but I did study Industrial Electricity, and worked as electrician for my father in the family construction business.

That looks like one of those remote control rechargeable LED.
You can see for yourself here:
https://www.amazon.com/Rechargeable-Emergency-Battery-Wireless-Activities/dp/B09BDW51DG/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2A98R1YZRQMK9&keywords=rechargeable+led+bulb&qid=1661180729&sprefix=rechargeable+led+bulb%2Caps%2C305&sr=8-1

Probably turning it on by remote control as he put the magnet near it, and off when he removes the magnet.

If you want clear instruction and a very entertaining presentation, watch Julius Sumner Miller on Youtube.

Thanks, I'll give it a go.

I did and was amazed. I had never heard of Julius Sumner Miller before. I haven't found my targeted video yet, but I can see myself spending the rest of my retirement years watching him.

The old economic rule "There is no such thing as a free lunch" also applies in engineering and energy production. This device also falls into the category of perpetual motion machines. No such devices exist despite the Youtube videos of those that do. They are all fake and exist ONLY to fool people into clicking on them and extracting money from advertisers.

No need to watch it...just apply some common sense.

Some extremely bright minds have created our sciences...many layers of very bright minds.

We all would know about this if it were true...we would have known this over a hundred years ago.

Let us not forget Chuck Harder radio talk show host who pushed his perpetual motion machine for years. Chuck passed away many years ago.

I've watched a few of his videos, and they look like science fiction. If he lived a few hundred years ago, he'd be accused of being a witch. He does some amazing things.
