I believe you can attribute the first quote to Mark Twain

The outside of a horse is good for the inside of a man ~Winston Churchill~
Once years ago, I was so positive that I was wrong, but I was mistaken.
My dad (my hero) told me when I was 10 years old "Any little girl can grow up to be a woman, but it takes a special little girl to grow up to be a lady"
and one I put on a sign in my barn.
"For people who like to ride slow, we have slow horses.
For people who like to ride fast, we have fast horses.
For people who have never ridden, we have horses that have never been ridden."

My Grandfather said something similar to me years ago and I believe it gets the same message across. Here goes: "Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys to pig." That's my favorite quote. I hunt and fish and one evening when I was visiting family where they live...in Milwaukee, a "lady" came up to me (I was wearing a very warm camo/earthtone sweater) and asked me how I could kill helpless little animals?" Grandpa's words came back to me right then. I didn't even try to respond. What I wanted to say was "it's easy, you just don't lead them too much." and a few other things also. Long story short, she was asked to leave the restaurant and I got a free beverage on the house. 8-)
Another I like is: Never mud wrestle with a pig. You will only get filthy and the pig will enjoy it

I've raised a lot of all except the sheep and could probably come up with a few more, but I'm about to head to bed with a blank mind at the moment.
