Does anyone happen to know if Willoughby's in New York is a reliable outlet for used gear? They offered more than KEH and MPB. Thanks.
Very well known and trusted names like KEH, Adorama, Robert's Camera, B&H, MPB in my humble opinion are the best places to buy and sell photo gear. I know that Willoughby's has been in business for a long time but I have never dealt with them.
Perhaps this helps

Thanks camerapapi. Quite the mixed bag
Every merchant is going to have some bad reviews, but 20% is a bit too high, even accounting for the fact that disgruntled customers are apt to be more vocal than satisfied ones.
I seem to remember someone saying that it had been taken over by new owners and the old reputation was no longer valid.
I've heard Abe's of Maine has great prices.

That's great news. I'm always looking for bargain prices on gray market goods, and why do I need all of those stupid accessories that come in the box? Save even more money.
Thanks for the thoughts. I neglected Abe's in my searches.
I just went through the website mentioned above for ratings. B&H and KEH were tops among those I looked at.

Thanks. I did look at that. MPB is also highly rated.

Keep neglecting.
They don't have a sell tab on their site anyway. I take it you're not happy with them.

CHG_CANON was being sarcastic in his post. They have the worst reputation of any photo dealer mentioned on this site. Gray market goods. Bait and switch. I'm just repeating what I've read here numerous times.
